Brethren,

Once again the privilege of being duly appointed District Deputy Grand Master of the 41st District has been bestowed upon me by our Most Worshipful Grand Master Dan Rice.

As part of the duties which Grand Master has charged the District Deputy Grand Master’s with this year, he has requested we perform an in-depth look at each Lodges current By-laws. We are also to be prepared to give a report at the district meeting on charitable activities taking place within our lodges, and report on the growth of our craft.

I know this is a busy time of year for each lodge with upcoming installations, holiday celebrations, and time with our families. However, in order to comply with Grand Master Rice’s request I need your assistance in compiling needed information.

Enclosed you will find a questionnaire which I ask you to complete and return to me as soon as possible but no later than the end of February. Please send me a copy of your by-laws when you return the questionnaire.

I am also enclosing a proposed schedule of my official visits which will begin in January. I hope to have visited all lodges in the 41st District before the Grand Master’s District Meeting on March 24th, 2009. The location for the District Meeting will be at Marble Springs. I will ask the web-master for the 41st District’s web site (accessible through the Grand Lodge web site) to include this to the site’s calendar, and attach a copy of this document to the web-site.

I look forward to serving you again this year.

Fraternally,

James L. (Jim) Hyde, District Deputy Grand Master
41st Masonic District of North Carolina
