Fantastic site and great poems. I would like to share some of them in our monthly Trestle Board. Who would I contact about permission to do so?

Consider this as my permission. Just give me credit for the work I've done collecting them. |

Lately I have been researching about masons. Always wanted to be in a secret and political brotherhood. I just wanyed to know how to become a mason. Also I don't have anyone in my family that is a mason. So I wanted to know will that effect my chances of becoming a mason thank you, Marquest Banks

Sorry, but I'm afraid you are looking for something that Masonry will not offer you. First, we are not a secret organization. We are an organization with a very few secrets, but so does Coca Cola and General Motors, etc. Second, we are not political. Politics are neither desired or permitted in the Lodge. Third, we are not a religion. We all have a belief in a Supreme Being and a life hereafter, however, we may call Him God or by whatever other name our particular religion teaches us. Therefore, Masonry is open to Christians (Protestant or Catholic) Buddhists, Muslims, etc. just as long as they believe in the existence of the Almighty. |

Go to www.masonicsites.org and click on the Order of the Eastern Star emblem down the left side of the home page. That will take you to where you can select "Goldsboro #54" where you can find much information about the Order. |

Bro. Ray, I was flattered to see that you've included a poem that I put on my lodge's website - The Work. This poem was found in my grandfather's effects and given to me by my sister. My grandfather was Bro Harry Frank Rose, of St. Andrew's Lodge #863, Chicago, IL and Paul Revere Lodge, NYC, NY. I never knew he was a Mason until after I was initiated. You have a great selection of poetry here on your site!

Many many thanks to all the Brethren past and present for their contributions. I actually used one of these poems as part of a toast recently. It was much appreciated and enjoyed by all the Brethren at The Festive Board. A wondeful site. Keep it up! Fraternal best wishes to all Brethren accessing this site.

I noted that you are a member of the Royal White Hart Lodge in Halifax, NC. Are you aware of the location of any masonic records for this particular lodge from the late 18th century?

I'm sorry, but I demitted from RWH #2 last Fall. I know that the Lodge Secretary has numerous old documents from that period in the Lodge archives. |

Brother Ray, I had some trouble trying to sign your guestbook, but I wanted to compliment you on the website. I seldom find a Masonic related website that doesn't leave me wanting to write a dissertation explaining how they got their "facts" wrong. I believe that even as old as our fraternity is, we still need new tools to help us survive into the future. I think your website is just such a tool. I plan on using some of the information found in the "Masonic etiquette" section for a Masonic education program that we are working on at Shallotte #727. Thank you for your efforts, and keep up the good work.

Bro.·. Dotson, it is good to find you at last! I had followed broken links to an earlier version of your site about a year ago, and when I was unable to find any live links to you, I incorporated your old site into ours at the Masonic Poets Society. Now that I find you have your site live again, I can drop that old version and replace it with just a link to this new location!

As lodge secretary, I publish quarterly newsletters in which I extensively use your poems and trivia as fillers. They certainly add interest for our members. Thanks for providing material pertinent to Masonry for inclusion in our newsletters.

This is a terific site. The student of Masonry would learn a lot from this site. It is tasteflul in the fact that it shares a great deal of Masonic information without spreading our ritual all over the Internet. Good job.
