Rodgers Lodge No. 525 A.F. & A.M. was chartered by the Grand Lodge of North Carolina in the Town of Middlesex on January 13,1904. The three principal officers installed to serve the Lodge on that date were Brothers B.B. Deans, Master, G.H. Eatman, Senior Warden, and J.T. Ellis, Junior Warden. Other officers that were also notable were R.L. Glover, Senior Deacon, J.W. Halis, Junior Deacon, Taylor Eatman, Treasurer, J.B. Dunn, Secretary and H.W. Strickland, Tyler.

Names of the brethren frequently mentioned and who were undoubtedly very active members by filling some of the above roles include K.W. Balentine, D.H. Bunn, W. Tisdale, A. Davis, Milton Narron, C.F. Bisett, J. W. Couch, G.R. Finch, Calvin Strickland, W.M. Narron, Z. B. Driver and A. C. Davis.
